The gallery owner, Jacques Hamon, created its gallery in 1946 in rue Thiers in Le Havre and revived the passion of the people of Le Havre for art, in a city that was nothing more than ruins at the end of the Second World War and which for 45 years invited them to share its joys and wonders in contemplating the greatest contemporary painters and sculptors of whom he was often the confidant, and always the ardent defender.
In 1954 the gallery moved to 44 Place de l'Hôtel de Ville in the city center of Le Havre where the inaugural exhibition was "Raoul DUFY, son of Le Havre".
Today, almost 80 years later, his son Jean-Pierre and his granddaughter Fiona continue in this vocation by presenting the works of recognized and lesser-known artists, but also new talents. No less than 20,000 works have been exhibited without losing its popularity with artists and collectors. Each month, the exhibitions allow us to discover real talents : Daniel Authouart had his first exhibitions in Le Havre and continues to present his works to us.
The Gallery offers the sale of paintings and sculptures, but also framing, fine arts supplies, artist books, painting restoration, card making, expertise and valuation as well as tax exemption advice.
