The gallery in rue Thiers was opened in 1946 by Jacques Hamon who offered a new gallery to the people of Le Havre which was in ruins after World War II, and for 45 years invited them to share with him the joys and moments of contemplation of artworks and sculptures by reknowned contemporary artists.
In 1954 the gallery then moved to 44 Place de l'Hôtel de Ville in the centre of Le Havre where the inaugural exhibition was « Raoul DUFY, son of Le Havre ».
Today, 70 years later, his son Jean Pierre and granddaughter, Fiona, continue in the vocation of presenting artworks by well-known and less well-known artists, but also new talented artists.
More than 20,000 artworks have been shown over the years maintaining valued rating by artists and art collectors.
Monthly exhibitions are organized and are an occasion to discover truly talented artists (Daniel Authouart showed his first works at our gallery and continues today).
The Gallery provides services of framing, fine art supplies, art books, restoration of paintings, card display, expertise & estimation as well as tax exemption.
