Studied at the Le Havre School of Fine Arts, Normandy (France)
Henri de Saint Delis was an artist who exceeded the limits.
Although he never belonged to the gropup of 'fauve' artists, he was from the generation of masters such as Vlaminck and Marquet and was a fellow compagnon of Raoul Dufy, Othon Friesz, Braque and Derain.
His oil paintings and water colours were discovered in 1954, five years after his death during an exhibition organised by the Weil Gallery in Paris.
The Galerie Hamon has shown his work since 1963.
Jean-Pierre Hamon of the same gallery is the official expert of Henri de Saint Delis's work. issuing authenticity certificates to Auction Houses.
His publication dedicated to the artist and his work "Henri de Saint Delis" par Jean Pierre Hamon, contains126 pages illustrated in colour and is available at the Galerie Hamon in Le Havre or from their on line store.
